The first uk pressing of this 1972 lp was issued in a stunning laminated sleeve by clout baker upon its initial release the album sold only in very small numbers it was only when when walk on the wild side was released as a single that the album began to take off post wild side uk lps were issued in a matte finish sleeve not the original more expensive to produce 1st press laminated.
The songs and production on transformer are up with the best in the reed canon and this is my favourite rca album by lou reed.
