Making a sliding gate.

In this series of posts i will show you how to build a cantilever sliding gate from scratch. For gates with vertical timber palings or slats fitted to the front the frame should have the top rail lower than the palings or slats otherwise the top rail is at the very top of the gate. The gate hardware consists of two v wheels with mounting bolts a roller track two guide rollers and a gate stopper. A sliding gate can be manual or automatic wood or metal large or small.
